Obituary for Homer Conley
Homer Conley, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at his home. He was born March 10, 1925, in Logan, West Virginia, son of the late Wilson and Hattie Riddles Conley. He was employed for 33 years by the Ford Motor Company at Brooke Park in Cleveland, from which he retired in 1984. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local #1250, Brooke Park, and he was a member of the Green Valley Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, and he love to hunt deer, turkeys, and coons.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Rena Stallings and Eldine Smith; an infant brother; his second wife, Helen Jordan Conley; and his first wife, who was the mother of his children.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn “Kay” Guiler Conley, whom he married June 22, 2001; one daughter, Theresa (Cecil) Adkins of West Virginia; one son, Charles (Kathy) Conley of Defiance; 4 granddaughters, Janet Bryant of West Virginia, Renee Hagerman, Angie Gurell, and Sarah Spencer, all of Defiance; four sisters, Olive Payne, Jewell Farley, Zella Stollings, and Juanita Harriman; 2 great-granddaughters and 6 great-grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, May 22nd at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at East Union Cemetery.
