Obituary for Helen Noreen Bates
Helen Noreen Bates, age 80, of Caldwell, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Arbors of Marietta. She was born December 15, 1918, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Walter and Jane Morrison Fogle. She was a former cook at Fort Frye High School, Beverly, and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ, Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenden Smith Bates; one daughter, Dixie Lee Bates; one sister, Ileen Fogle; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Fogle. Surviving are five sons, Leon (Gaylin) Bates of Michigan, Larry (Diane) Bates of Marietta, Lloyd (Barbara) Bates of Caldwell, Gary (Linda) Bates of Pomeroy, and Terry (Nancy) Bates of Beverly; two daughters, Lucinda (Steven) Johnson of Kentucky, and Luann (Alan) Brown of Tuppers Plains; four brothers, Clarence, Carl, Kenny, and Charles A. Fogle; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday, March 23, 2005, from 2-5 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Thursday, March 24, at 11AM with Evangelist Paul Hoover officiating. Burial will be at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorials may be made to the Main Street Church of Christ, P.O. Box 217 Caldwell, Ohio 43724
