Obituary for Helen K. Mishlan
Helen K. Mishlan, age 85, of Belle Valley, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at her home. She was born December 4, 1921, in Wallbank, West Virginia, daughter of the late Luther and Willa Ann Rogers Cruikshanks. She was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, and she was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. She was also a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Belle Valley, and its Catholic Women's Club, and the Noble County Veterans Service Board. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Clode Harold, in 1951; her second husband, Andy E. Mishlan, who died July 20, 1985; one son, Marvin Harold, who died in 1988; two sisters, Gloria Ann Hensley and Sharon Elswick; and two brothers, Harold and Charles Cruikshanks. Surviving are two sons, Don (Marsha) Harold of West Virginia and Tim (Donna) Mishlan of Caldwell; one daughter, Monica (Dale) Fry of Caldwell; six brothers, Robert (Gale) Cruikshanks of Louisanna, Ralph Cruikshanks of Belle Valley, and Paul (Linda), John, Cliff, and Ben (Mae) Cruikshanks, all of West Virginia; one sister, Julia 'Marge' Jarvis of West Virginia; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, February 11, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8PM At McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 12 at 10AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Belle Valley, with Father Dale Tornes and Rev. Mark Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
