Obituary for Helen I. Horn
Helen I. Horn, age 75, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born March 28, 1932, near Hoskinsville, Ohio, daughter of the late Beryl and Lucille Burrier Pickenpaugh. She was a member of the Sharon Community Church, a former member of the Caldwell Moose, and she was a long time vendor and participant at the fall Soakum Festival in Noble County. Mrs. Horn and her husband owned the former Horn's Sunoco on State Route 78. She loved her farm and she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning. She loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her friends most of all. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her birth parents, Willard and Ina Pickenpaugh Coyle; one brother, Cary Pickenpaugh; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and John Harper; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Surviving are her husband, William Horn, whom she married October 15, 1977; her children, Joel (Carole) Hallowell, Ronnie (Bonnie) Hallowell, Carlene Hallowell, Julene (Dale) Phillis, William (Jenny) Horn, Cecil (Carla) Horn, Edward Horn, Ella (Jim) Kincaid, and Lowell (Tracy) Horn; two sisters, Jessi (Paul) Gill and Clarabelle (Lloyd) Wickham; two brothers, Carl (Rowena) Coyle and Clair (Donna) Pickenpaugh; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special caregiver, Gail Loudermilk. Friends may call Monday, July 30, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 31st at 1PM with Pastors Bill Pickenpaugh and Nate Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow at Hiramsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
