Obituary for Helen E. Johnson
Helen E. Johnson, age 99, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, October 9, 2016, in Bolivar at the home of her son. She was born June 18, 1917, in Hiramsburg, daughter of the late Irvel and Ethel Conner. She was a 1934 graduate of Belle Valley High School, and she was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell. Helen loved to travel with Buckeye Tours of Cambridge.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Johnson, whom she married November 30, 1933, and who passed away January 23, 1995; one son, Russell C. Johnson, who passed away February 9, 2013; two brothers, William K. “Bill” Conner and Dick E. Conner; one sister, Lena Ann Conner; and an infant nephew, Michael O. Conner.
She will be missed by her family: her son, Jack P. (Connie) Johnson of Bolivar, five grandchildren, Pam (Jeff) Buckey, Shawn (Stephanie) Johnson, Phil (Sherry) Johnson, Michelle “Chelle” Johnson, and Teela (Joe) Fisher; 13 great-grandchildren, James, Megan, Alec, Kendyl, Ashley, Conner, Rogan, Reed, Taryn, Jaelyn, Mya, Brynnlee, and Alivia; 4 great-great-grandchildren, James, Bennett, Laighla, and Jordyn; one niece, Vicki (Ron) Conner Perry of Gainesville, Georgia; and special friends, Mary Ogle and Stacy and Kay Young.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 1-4PM and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, October 13th at 1PM with Dr. Wayne Stout and Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Hoskinsville Cemetery.
