Obituary for Harry Murel Moore
Harry Murel Moore, age 79, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his home. He was born February 3, 1938, in Coal Ridge, son of the late Charles T. and Luella Hickman Moore. He retired in 2004 from the former Dana Corporation plant in Caldwell, where he served as a machine operator, tow motor operator, and stock chaiser. Harry loved music, and he played the guitar and enjoyed singing. He also enjoyed fishing and mowing his yard, and he was a fan of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball and Ohio State Buckeyes football. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Ruth Oliver Moore, whom he married June 29, 1957, and who died February 16, 2013; two sons, Mark Thomas Moore, who died January 16, 2015, and Charles Herschel Moore, who died March 30, 2015; three sisters, Betty Faye Morrison, Norma Jean Hayes, and Verna Kay Stack; and one brother, Jesse Eugene Moore.
Surviving are his children, Frederick “Rick” Murel Moore (Joyce Hardwick) of Marietta, Sheila Marie (Rich) Baker of Belle Valley, Cindi D. Moore of Caldwell, and Harry Daniel (Betty) Moore of Cambridge; two sisters, Delores Morrison of Cambridge and Louise (Buddy) Webb of Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, January 26, 2018, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, January 27th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
