Obituary for H. Franklin "Frank" Smith
H. Franklin “Frank” Smith, age 53, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born January 26, 1966, in Marietta, son of the late Herman Smith and Genevieve Graham. He worked in oil fields his entire life. Frank was a mechanic who enjoyed working on old cars, collecting antiques, and doing jobs as a handyman. He enjoyed fishing and dirt track racing, and he will be remembered for his outstanding cake baking. He was a beloved family man who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy L. Emerick Smith, who died December 29, 2008; and one brother, Harold “Otzel” Smith.
Surviving are his children, Jerry D. (Jessica) Smith of McConnelsville, Michael J. Smith of Caldwell, Mountain Rose Smith of Columbus, Samantha C. Smith of Macksburg, and Shawna R. Smith of Caldwell; his siblings, Herman “Buggy” Smith of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Alice Valentina (Chad) Maglione of Wellsburg, West Virginia, and Larry Joy of Lowell; two grandchildren, Alexis and Avery Smith; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, May 13, 2019, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, May 14th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Lund Cemetery in Macksburg.
