Obituary for Grace Ellen Wells
Grace Ellen Wells, age 91, of Belpre, Ohio died Friday morning (8/1/2003) at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was born 10/30/1911 at Crum Ridge, Noble County, Ohio a daughter of the late Wilbert and Edith Crum Mason. She was a member of the Crum Ridge Church of Christ, and had also attended the Caldwell and Belpre congregations where she had lived. She devoted her life to working at home, quilting, crocheting and the Ohio Valley College Stepping Stones. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Oscar Wells whom she married 10/31/1931 and who passed from this life in 1977; 1 brother J. Bernard Mason; 3 sisters Blanche Thompson, Alice Holland & Velma Stephens and 1 granddaughter Carolyn Wechter. Surviving are 2 daughters Betty Wechter & ex- husband Bill of Long Island, New York & Virginia (Bernard) Hines of Marietta; 2 sons Eugene (Grace) Wells of Belpre and Paul (Linda) Wells of Marietta; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday (8/3/2003) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Monday (8/4/2003) at 1:00 PM with Evangelist Robert Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. The family requests that memorials be made to Ohio Valley College in memory of Grace Ellen Wells.
