Obituary for Goldie Juanita Ramsey
Goldie Juanita Ramsey, age 90, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born January 12, 1918, at Forest Grove Ridge, Sharon Township, daughter of the late Harvey and Gladys McMannis Barnhouse. She was a graduate of Forest Grove High School. She owned a restaurant for a short time in California, and she worked as a cook for the former Parkside and Gunnels Family Restaurants in Caldwell. She was a cook for Summit Acres Nursing Home for twenty years, and she also sold Avon products. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Caldwell, and its Worthwhile Sunday School Class, and she was a former member of the Sharon Grange. She loved to quilt and crochet. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Ramsey, whom she married April 2, 1938, and who died August 7, 1997; one grandchild; two sisters, Marguerite Barnhouse and Francis Kissel; and two brothers, Charles Abner Barnhouse and John Barnhouse. Surviving are her children, Janet K.(Raymond) Yerian of Cambridge, P. Gary (Ruth Ann) Ramsey of Union, South Carolina, and Herb (Sherri) Ramsey of Caldwell; one sister, Mary (Grover) Fridley of Utah; one brother, Kenneth (Anna Mae) Barnhouse of Kettering; 13 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-granchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Monday, April 7, 2008, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 8th at 11AM with Pastors Loran Dace and Dale Hunt officiating.
