Obituary for Gloria Rocco Moore
Gloria Rocco Moore, age 92, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, March 14, 2020, at her home. She was born December 21, 1927, in Piney Fork, Ohio, daughter of the late Antonio and Bertha Danjou Piergellini. She was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Elliot’s Business College in Wheeling, West Virginia, and Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School where she was enrolled in the LPN program. She retired from Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell in 1992 following 25 years of service. Gloria was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women’s Club, the Noble County Red Hatters, Noble County Ripples Cancer Support Group, and PERS. She was an excellent cook, and she was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Daniel Rocco, whom she married in October, 1950, and who died in September, 1958; her second husband, William Donald “Dinty” Moore, whom she married in October, 1972, and who died in June, 1982; two sisters, Alice Mendelson and Maxine Sabo; and three brothers, Henry, Adam, and infant brother Rolland Piergallini.
Surviving are her children, Angela Shelley Rocco Channel of Steubenville and Jerome Daniel (Patti) Rocco of Spring, Texas; her step-son, William Donald (Ann) Moore of New Concord; three grandchildren, Angela Shay Fodor, Christopher Michael Rocco, and Lauren Elizabeth Daugherty; 6 great-grandsons; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews, including Gary and Joan Sabo of Granville and Bonnie Sabo Fiddler of Mingo Junction.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from 2-6PM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow visitation at 6PM with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris and Rev. Fr. Chester Pabin as celebrants. Burial will take place Wednesday, March 18th at 2PM at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville, Pennsylvania.
