Glenna Irene Kirkbride, age 72, of McConnellsville, Ohio, formerly of Noble County, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born June 24, 1940, in Belle Valley, daughter of the late Leonard “Ted” and Fonda Rogers Glidden. She was a 1958 graduate of Sarahsville High School and she worked for a time at March Electric. Glenna loved taking care of her family and she enjoyed crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry Lee Kirkbride in 1989; three brothers, Robert Glidden, Rolland Glidden, Sr. and Lewis Glidden; and one sister, Nora Marlene Carpenter. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Kirkbride, whom she married January 3, 1959; four sons, John R. (Denise) Kirkbride of Columbus, Victor G. (Debbie) Kirkbride of McConnellsville, Tom Kirkbride of Sarahsville, and James L. (Maya) Kirkbride of Macksburg; one daughter, Rhonda G. (Edwin) Tilton of Pleasant City; two brothers, Frank “Boob” (Vickie) Glidden of Massillon and Ted Glidden of Caldwell; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial follow at Center Free Methodist Church Cemetery in Sarahsville.
