Obituary for Glendola F. Pryor
Glendola F. Pryor, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, joined her husband at their eternal home Saturday, August 25, 2018. She was born May 3, 1931, in Portage County, Ohio, daughter of the late Lowell F. and Ina M. Tawney Swain. She was a 1950 graduate of Caldwell High School. While in high school she became a personal assistant and housekeeper for the late Honorable Judge L.B. Frazier, his wife, Jesse, and their only child, Minerva Elizabeth Frazier. Minerva was an English teacher in Caldwell for many years and was known to the Pryor girls as Granny Frazier. Glendola was employed as a tailor and seamstress for many years and was always diligent in continuing education in those fields. Many people became acquainted with her while she owned and operated Town Square Fabrics for ten years. She was a dedicated servant to her ministries. She attended Marietta Bible College. Glendola was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley and all of her life’s work was dedicated to the Lord. Children were her first calling, and as physical limitations made serving little ones more difficult, she was called to be a prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Myron Pryor, whom she married August 6, 1950, and who died June 16, 2018; one grandson, David Myron Snider; one great-grandson, Brody J. Price; one brother, Lowell Swain, Jr.; and one sister, Lenora Hartman.
Surviving are her daughters, Diana L. Pryor Price of Canton, Rhonda Sue (Wayne) Snider of Thornville, Rosanna M. Pryor of Caldwell, and Donna L. Coburn of Pleasantville; one sister, Doris R. Avila of North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 11AM-1PM and 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, August 30th at 11AM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Grove Road, Belle Valley, Ohio, 43717.
“Ah, yes, but a wonderful legacy of completed works, a ministry of much love. Is it not a blessing to have a heavenly homecoming while there was yet a list of hopes and dreams to be offered to the Lord? Our precious mother’s heart sought always to find God’s best…”
