Obituary for Gladys Leona Seevers
Gladys L. Seevers, age 91, of Elba, Ohio, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at her home. She was born August 5, 1918, in Elba, daughter of the late Henry and Lilly Mae Lent Hughey. She attended Macksburg High School, and she was a member of the New Life Christian Church in Cambridge. Gladys was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, and Bible reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Seevers, Sr., whom she married in 1938, and who died in 1980; one son, Bernard E. ?Red? Seevers, Jr.; one daughter, Thelma R. Carna; six sisters, Edna, Goldie, Mable, Marie, Thelma and Icle; three brothers, Harold, Raymond and Charles; and two granddaughters. Surviving are two daughters, Linda L. Grosz of Pickerington and Doreen (Denver) Hesson of Elba; one daughter-in-law, Carmen E. Seevers of Marietta; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, April 8, 2010, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, April 9th at 1PM with Donald Seevers officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Marietta.
