Obituary for Gladys I. Miller
Gladys I. Miller, age 93, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born August 29, 1921, in Harriettsville, daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Bettinger. She was employed over the years by Noble County Produce, K. V. Stone, and Hayes Hardware. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and woodworking with her son, Ralph.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Miller; one daughter, Joan C. Thomas; one son, Donald E. Miller; two sisters, Frances Hesson and Bertha Templeton; and one brother, Clarence Bettinger.
Surviving are one daughter, Norma Jean (Gary) Hayes of Cambridge; one son, Ralph E. (Diane) Miller, of Caldwell; one daughter-in-law, Gail Miller of South Bend, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, Pam Woods, Cheryl Pryor, Kevin Miller, Doug Miller, Laura Scott, Vicki Zerger, Debra McKelvey, Jim Carpenter, Tom Carpenter, Scott Carpenter, Kris Rice, Shon Miller, Shannon Sebring, and Shelly Miller; 18 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will follow at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Friday, December 12th at 10AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 221 Main Street, Belle Valley, with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
