Obituary for Gladys D. DeVolld
Gladys D. DeVolld, age 95, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born August 18, 1912, in Hoskinsville, Ohio, daughter of the late Warner Cleveland and Ethel Engle Stewart. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Caldwell, where she was a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, and a member of its Women's Missionary Society. Mrs. DeVolld was also a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, the Sharon Grange, the Young at Heart Club, and the Noble County Historical Society. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Waldo DeVolld, to whom she was married for 65 years; one daughter, Sandra Kay DeVolld; one sister, Mary Boyd; and three brothers, Albert, Stanley, and Alfonzo Stewart. Surviving are her children, Ruth Ann (Bob) Murphy of Pickerington, Stewart E. (Mary Ann) DeVolld of Norwich, Robert L. (Shelia) DeVolld of Kenai, Alaska, Ray D. (Kathy) DeVolld of Pataskala, and Randy DeVolld of the Philippines; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, November 16, 2007 from 4-8PM and Saturday, November 17th from 10-11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Robert DeVolld officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell.
