Obituary for Gerald B. "Buckeye" Davis
Gerald B. “Buckeye” Davis, age 74, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his home. He was born July 17, 1942, in Sarahsville, son of the late Paul and Hattie Kirkbride Davis. Buckeye was a 1960 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and he was a United States Air Force veteran. He owned and operated Buckeye’s Excavating in Sarahsville for over 40 years, and he was a member of the Sarahsville United Methodist Church and the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. In his early years, he loved spending time with his horses and cars. Later in life, he was dedicated to his family and work.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Blair Davis, whom he married May 23, 1964, and who died January 21, 2010; and one brother, Russell K. Davis, who died in 1992.
Surviving are his children, Melissa J. (Randy) Leasure of Sarahsville, Melinda R. (Mark) Baker of Cambridge, Marcia V. (Scott) Brown of Sarahsville, and Gerald B. “G.B.” (Angie) Davis, Jr. of Sarahsville; two sisters, Marlene Triplett of Caldwell and Karen Cowgill of Florida; 9 grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Dylan, Niki, Blair, Sara, Andrew, Alex, and Acen; a very special nephew, Lloyd Paul “L.P.” (Diane) Davis of Sarahsville; and several additional nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, March 31, 2017, from 3-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, April 1st at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Village View Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veterans Service Organizations.
