Obituary for Georgianna L. Carpenter
Georgianna L. Carpenter, 82, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at the First Community Village in Columbus, Ohio. Georgianna was born March 4, 1934, in Summerfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Herbert B. and Opal B. Long Carpenter. Georgianna was a 1952 graduate of the Columbus Business School, and she was employed as an executive secretary for the Battelle Corporation for 34 years. She was a member and treasurer of the Battelle Seniors. Georgianna was an avid fan and supporter of the Ohio State University Athletics, and she was a member of the Buckeye Sideliners. She attended numerous athletic events both at home and away. She was also a 50 year member of the Triangle Chapter Order of the Eastern Star at Columbus, Ohio. She was an avid reader, and she loved to travel and play cards, especially euchre and Phase 10.
She is survived by her brother, D.K. (Patsy) Carpenter of Summerfield, Ohio; three nephews, Dan (Deb) Carpenter of Summerfield, Ohio, Darwin (Tabby) Carpenter of Sarahsville, Ohio, and Dustin (Donna) Carpenter of Summerfield, Ohio; one niece, Darcie (Eric) Anderson of Lewisville, Ohio; great-nieces and nephews, Drew Carpenter, Devanni Carpenter, and Dayna (Daniel) Hannahs, all of Summerfield, Ohio; Kyla (Andrew) Myers of Caldwell, Ohio, Dalton Carpenter, Dylan Carpenter, and Dallas Carpenter, all of Sarahsville, Ohio, Kelsey Stevens of Marietta, Ohio, Emma and Ethan Carpenter of Caldwell, Ohio, and Korah and Klara Anderson of Lewisville, Ohio; great – great-nieces and nephews, Bryce and Kynzlee Hannahs, and Karla and Ryder Myers; and many friends.
Friends will be received at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug DeLong officiating. Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield.
