George Edward “Ed” Harper, age 65, of Salesville, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at his home. He was born November 5, 1951, in Caldwell, son of the late Wiley and Opal Whetstone Harper. He was a 1969 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he was employed as an operator for Eclipse Resources at Zanesville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell, and he served as past Worshipful Master for the former Noble Lodge #459 in Caldwell. Mr. Harper enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Susan L. Smith Harper; two sons, Thomas W. (Arin) Harper of Zanesville and Scott E. Harper of Salesville; and one granddaughter, Molly B. Harper.
Friends may call Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 11AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery.
