Obituary for Geneva M. Wittenbrook
Geneva M. Wittenbrook, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at The Arbors at Marietta. She was born August 31, 1927, in Noble County, daughter of the late George and Evelyn Poling Anderson. She was employed as an inspector by the former Gould plant in Caldwell. Geneva formerly attended Barry’s Ridge Community Church. She was a beloved mother and homemaker, and she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Wittenbrook, who died January 31, 1972; one son, Charles R. Wittenbrook, who died in 2016; her sisters, Alice Hicks, Vivian La Barre, Cuba Davis, Ruth Bond, and Winona McCune; and her brothers, Lloyd, Leonard, John, and Homer Anderson.
Surviving are her children, George “Butch” (Leona) Anderson of Caldwell, Homer (Donna) Wittenbrook of Harriettsville, Donna (David) Harper of Caldwell, Barbara (Lester) Freeland of Caldwell, Mark Wittenbrook (Holly Hanes) of Byesville, and James (Misty) Wittenbrook of Marietta; one daughter-in-law, Alice Mae Wittenbrook of Caldwell; three sisters, Pauline Woomer of Cutler, Bonnie Anderson of Cumberland, and Wanda Gildow of Caldwell; one sister-in-law, Jean Anderson of Zanesville; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very special friend and caregiver, Diana “Sissy” Ross of Harriettsville.
Friends may call Monday, April 10, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, April 11th at 1PM with Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Somerton Cemetery.
