Obituary for Floyd Joseph Morrison
Floyd Joseph Morrison, age 74, of Stockport, Ohio, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at The Beckett House, New Concord, Ohio. He was born October 30, 1933, in Middleburg, Ohio, son of the late Jewett Henry and Elizabeth Dye Morrison. He was employed by Burnham Boiler in Zanesville for many years, and he was a custodian for Caldwell Elementary School. He was a member of the Crum Ridge Church of Christ. Mr. Morrison was an accomplished musician, having played the guitar, banjo, fiddle, and the harmonica, and he was a member of The Country Jammers. He played for Noble County's Art on the Square and Soakum Festival. Along with his music, he enjoyed camping. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Crum Morrison, who died in 1999; his sisters, Gladys Krouskrough, Grace Yeagle, Laura Harriman, and two infant sisters; and his brothers, John, Jim, and Jewett Morrison, Jr., and one infant brother. Surviving are his former wife and family friend, Helen Jepson of Malta; his daughter, Sherry (Jack) Ross of New Concord; one sister, Kathryn Miller of Byesville; a sister-in-law, Betty (Floyd) Frazier of Carlisle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday, April 16, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. A graveside service will be observed Thursday, April 17th at 11AM at Crum Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
