Obituary for Faye Eileen Schafer Forshey
Faye Eileen Schafer Forshey, age 80, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus with her family at her side. She was born May 29, 1932, in Lower Salem, daughter of the late James and Ollie Doan Schafer. She was a member of Ragan’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Faye was a homemaker who raised thirteen children. After most of her children were gone from home, she drove a school bus for the Noble Local School District for twelve years. She was a very hard worker on the family farm, along with her late husband, Brady Dean Forshey, who died March 25, 1990. In her later years, she enjoyed sitting on her front porch during warm weather, watching traffic go by and horns honking “Hi, Faye.” She also enjoyed playing solitaire on her computer, doing word searches, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by one sister, Betty (Sam) Smith of Newport. Surviving are seven sons, Eddie (Chris) Forshey of Belle Valley, Dr. Tony (Jill) Forshey of Granville, Robert (Debbie) Forshey of Caldwell, Randy (Melanie) Forshey of Sarahsville, Jay (Cheryl) Forshey of Barnesville, Pat (Peggy) Forshey of Howard, and Greg (Kim) Forshey of Sarahsville; six daughters, Linda (Dale) Archer of Estero, Florida, Susie (Gary) Dimmerling of Granville, Penny (Paul) Gamrat of Concord, Carolyn (Terry) Martin of Summerfield, Florida, Jackie (Jack) Treadway of Phoenix, Arizona, and Laura (Don) Rose of Racine; one brother, Bill (Blanche) Schafer of Tuscon, Arizona; one sister, Hazel (Edgar) Smithberger of Lower Salem; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, December 31st at 10AM with Pastor Sandra Payette officiating. Burial will follow at Tabor Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to caringbridge.org, or to Ragan’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 13778, Chapel Drive, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
