Obituary for Evelyn M. Ayers
Evelyn M. Ayers, age 81 of Marietta died Wednesday afternoon September 1, 2004 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born December 17, 1922 in Akron, Ohio a daughter of the late Garnett and Ora Lee Snider. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lower Salem United Methodist Church. The Marietta Chapter #59 Order of the Eastern Star and the Elk Township Grange. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burdette Ayers on April 24, 1981, one brother; Clarence Snider, one sister; Jean Strain, one granddaughter; Kendra Ayers. She is survived by 2 sons; Allen (Diane) Ayers of Lowell, Kenneth L. (Patricia Ann) Ayers of Whipple, 1 daughter; Kathy (Daryl) Wolfe of Marietta, 3 brothers; Carl (Becky) Snider of Caldwell, Robert (Wanda) Snider of Canal Fulton, David (Mary Lou) Snider of Massillon, 1 sister; Geraldine (Walt) Spencer of Stow, a sister-in-law; Geneva Snider of Akron, 8 grandchildren; Terry Ayers, Kelly Nichols, Susan Smith, Bonnie Betts, Bethie Betts, Matthew Wolfe, Christina Wolfe, Katelin Wolfe, 7 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1 pm at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home with Pastor Carol Smith officiating. Interment will be in Salem Township Cemetery.
