Obituary for Evelyn D. Everly
Evelyn D. Everly, age 86, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born May 15, 1922, in Buffalo, Ohio, daughter of the late John Earl and Lela Foss LaFollette Miller. She was a 1940 graduate of Buffalo High School, and she was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Reed Motors and the Briar Patch in Caldwell. She sang and yodeled for years on WILE radio, and most recently she sang with the Get Along Gang. She was well known for her crafting and sewing. Mrs. Everly was a member and a Bible class teacher at the Bateshill Church of Christ near Sarahsville. She was an active member of the Young at Heart Club, the Gould Retirees, and the Noble County Stepping Stones for Ohio Valley University. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Dallas Bond; her second husband, William Everly; one sister, Mildred Work; one brother, Forest Miller; three infant siblings; a step-son, Bruce Everly; and a step-daughter, Marsha Everly. She is survived by three daughters, Deloris O. (Don) Ullmann of Belle Valley, Donna L. (Bud) Pickenpaugh of Newark, and E. Diane (Roger) Rush of Marietta; two step-sons, Larry Everly and Billy (Peggy) Everly of Florida; one sister, Carmie (Edison) Green of Sebring, Florida; two brothers, Glen (Alleen) Miller of Cambridge and Flavil (Verna) Miller of Old Washington; six grandchildren, Stacey (David) Kirkey, Justin (Jennifer) Secrest, Kimberly Pickenpaugh, Denise Pickenpaugh, Angela (Mike) Willman, and Adam Rush; great-grandchildren, Kel, Logan, and Evelyn Secrest, Justine and Shannon Kirkey, and Abigail and Andrew Willman; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, October 17, 2008, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18th at 1PM with Roger Rush and Harry Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Bateshill Cemetery near Seneca Lake.
