Evan J. Hughey, age 49, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home. He was born February 9, 1966, in Marietta, son of Juanita Eileen McAtee Hughey of Macksburg and the late Charles Lewis “Red” Hughey. He was a 1984 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he was a self-employed painter. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, and he enjoyed NASCAR and wrestling.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two step-children, Austin M. Tonnous of Homeworth and Hannah E. Tonnous of Caldwell; a dear friend, Ursula Hughey; his siblings, Denise H. (Dave) Williams and Melody L. Gray, both of Macksburg, Danny L. (Barb) Hughey of Norton, Ronald A. (Carol) Hughey of Lowell, and Gary W. Hughey of Warner; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 5, 2015, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, May 6th at 1PM with Father Chester Pabin officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery in Lower Salem.
