Obituary for Esther Eileen Barlock
Esther Eileen Barlock, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born June 7, 1926, in Graysville, daughter of the late Lloyd and Hazel Harman Petty. She was a graduate of Woodsfield High School, and she was employed in Woodsfield until her marriage to George Edward Barlock in June , 1952. After their marriage, they moved to the Belle Valley area, and for 25 years, she was employed by Randy Clark Auctions in Dexter City. She was a collector and dealer of fine antiques and collectibles, and she was a member of the R. S. Prussia Collector’s Association. Along with her husband, Mrs.Barlock published one of the first books on R. S. Prussia china. They also worked together as advocates for children and the importance of education. She loved animals and bird watching. Mrs. Barlock was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley. She will be sadly missed by many friends near and far. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Barlock, who died November 25, 1984; and an infant sister, Helen Juanita Petty. Surviving are one brother, Ralph Frank of San Diego, California; one aunt, Janeva Harman of Indiana; one brother-in-law, Al Wukelich of Caldwell; one cousin, Delvin Devore of Woodsfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday, October 23, 2013, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, October 24th at 10AM with Rev.
