Ervin J. Blair, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at his home. He was born October 4, 1938, in Elba, son of the late John W. and Sally Hazel Green Blair. He was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1961-1963. He was formerly employed by Weatherseal in Caldwell, and he retired from the former Gould plant in Caldwell. He enjoyed making outdoor baskets, fishing, hunting, and camping. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, William J. Blair; one sister, Betty Davis, and one brother, Don Blair. Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Ralph Blair, whom he married February 27, 1965; one brother, Everett Blair of Crooked Tree; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, February 15th at 11AM with Pastor George Clark officiating, and a veteran’s service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
