Obituary for Ernest Franklin "Shorty" Duffey
Ernest Franklin “Shorty” Duffey, age 74, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born May 12, 1943, in Bell, West Virginia, son of the late Charles and Maggie Hancock Duffey. He was employed as a mechanic for Penske Truck Leasing.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Duffey; and two sisters, Linda Bunn and Grace Hobbs.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Ruth E. King Duffey, whom he married June 24, 1967; his children, Kimberley (Carson) Duffey and Roxanna Delp, both of Pleasant City; his siblings, Fonda Short of Michigan, Juanita Richardson of West Virginia, and Charles Duffey of Pleasant City; 6 grandsons, including a special grandson whom he raised like a son, Michael Duffey of Pleasant City; 4 granddaughters; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, February 2, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, February 3rd at 11AM with Pastor Nate Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
