Obituary for Ernest E. "Buck" Stritz

Ernest E. “Buck” Stritz, age 80, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed from death to life and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the morning of January 6, 2024. He was born on July 7,1943, in Florence, son of the late Ernest Charles and Alma Mae Coyle Stritz. He was a 1961 graduate of Caldwell High School. Buck and his father owned and operated Stritz Auto Parts in Florence for over 80 years. He was a car enthusiast and master mechanic. In his youth, he served his country in the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football and auto racing. He truly loved talking and helping others. He was a naturally great storyteller, having his listeners hanging on to every word. You could find Buck at many church services throughout the Caldwell area and he regularly attended Sharon Church, the Caldwell United Methodist Church, and the Belle Valley United Methodist Church. He was a true disciple of Christ, always ready to witness, comfort the dying, and preach in various institutions. We love and miss you Buck Stritz: husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. You helped shape our lives for the best and we won’t forget you.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Karl Stritz; one sister, Rebecca Stritz; brothers-in-law, William Bailey and Harry Bruner; and sister-in-law, Shirley Buckey Stritz.

Surviving is his beautiful and devoted wife, Sandee Stritz, whom he married March 15, 1980; his cherished daughter, Renata R. Stritz; his sisters, Agnes Bailey of Buckeye Lake and Alice Bruner of Cambridge; mother-in-law, Harriett I. Austin of Florida; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Tyler) Thro and Jane (Neal) Lively, both of Florida; brother-in-law, Jessie Austin of Arizona; numerous nephews and nieces; and countless dear friends.
