Obituary for Ernest L. Griffin
Ernest L. Griffin, age 74, of Lower Salem, Ohio, died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home. He was born November 16, 1945, in Lower Salem, son of the late Carl and Elsie Berg Griffin. He was a self-employed mechanic. Ernie attended the Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ. He enjoyed working on cars and he enjoyed watching NASCAR, of which he was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Gail Hackathorne, Jean Stack, and Karen Long; and two brothers, Dean Griffin and Norville Griffin.
Surviving are several children; his siblings, Marlene Hesson of Zanesville, Wanda Dennis of Lowell, Wendell Griffin of Charleston, West Virginia, and Sandra Stack of Macksburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 28, 2020, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, July 29th at 11AM with Thomas Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery. For public safety, state guidelines require that guests wear masks and practice social distancing at all gatherings.
