Emil E. Kominar, age 91, of Ava, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born September 16, 1926, in Coal Ridge, son of the late Andrew and Mary Cepca Kominar. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II, having been stationed in the Phillipines. He retired as a machinist for the former Dana Plant in Caldwell. He was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641, and he enjoyed John Deere tractors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Delores Bond Kominar, whom he married June 25, 1947, and who died August 9, 2006; four sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are his children, Larry E. (Rebecca) Kominar of Belle Valley, Roy A. Kominar of Ava, and Cindy L. (Kevin) Deason of Byesville; three grandchildren, Joshua Deason of New York City, Korey (Jennifer) Deason of Zanesville, and Larry Alan Watson of Lancaster; two-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Kominar Perkins of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be observed by the family. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
