Obituary for Eileen Butler
Eileen Butler, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born November 12, 1932, in Ava, daughter of the late Kenneth Ellsworth and Clara Jane Miller Perkins, Sr. She retired from NCR in Cambridge in 1991. She was a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, and she was active in Ripples Noble County Cancer Support Group. She attended the Golden Sixties Group in Byesville, and she was a member of the Caldwell McDonald’s Coffee Clatch. Eileen loved to paint and she won many ribbons and awards for her artwork. She was also a member of the Southeastern Watercolor Society.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert W. Butler, whom she married July 22, 2000, and who died May 21, 2009; one sister, Maxine Jackson; one brother, Kenneth E. Perkins, Jr.; and one step-son, Timmy Butler.
Surviving are her children, Connie (Don) Feathers of Reedsville, West Virginia, Susan (Pastor Terry “T.J.”) Schmelzenbach of Marietta, Mark (Anne) Keyser of Dover, and John (Krissy) Moore of Summerfield; one step-daughter, Christy S. Capps of Conway, Arkansas; one step-son, Delbert W. (Jenett) Butler, Jr. of Riverside, California; her siblings, Joan (Fred) Powell of Caldwell, Sandy Clark of Delaware, Diane (Charlie) Morton of Caldwell, Teresa (Harry) Clark of Middleburg, Clayton (Virginia) Perkins of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Terry (Jeannie) Perkins of Cambridge, Mitchell (Jacquie) Perkins of Caldwell, Lynn Cox of Cambridge, Deborah Bush of Salem, Tim Buckey of Cambridge, Jim (Lora) Perkins of Pleasant City, Tom Perkins of Byesville, and Charles “Fred” Buckey of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several-step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, June 19, 2016, from 5PM-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, June 20th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
