Obituary for Edna Marie Porter
Edna Marie Porter, age 84, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born May 15, 1925 near Sarahsville, daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche Williamson Anderson. She attended school in Pleasant City and Sarahsville, she was a homemaker, and she was a longtime member of First Church of Christ in Caldwell. She was also member of the Noble County Historical Society and she was one of the founding organizers of the Soakum Festival. Edna loved to attend music festivals. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chester ?Dale? Porter, whom she married November 25, 1942 and who died May 27, 1997; four brothers, Clyde, Biry, Gilbert and John Anderson; and three sisters, Zola Anderson, Naomi ?Tippie? Anderson, and Gladys Hayes. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, March 19, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, March 20th at 11AM with Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of Christ, 601 North Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724.
