Edith Eva Bishop, age 99, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born November 27, 1909, near Summerfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Ed and Rosa Stallings. She was a graduate of the former Summerfield High School, and she was a homemaker, loving mother and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell. Edith was a member of the Dopey Dozens Quilting Bee in Monroe County. She enjoyed reading and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F. Ward Bishop; one son, Dale Bishop; one daughter, Janice Bishop; three sisters, Grace Keylor, Oneda Starr and Lulu McDonald; and one brother, Irvin Stallings. Surviving are one son, David (Sharon) Bishop of Rifle, Colorado; one daughter, Kathy Chester of Caldwell; one sister-in-law, Betty Stallings of Caldwell; six grandchildren, Tammy (John) McCort, Tim (Mandy) Bishop, Krista (Bret) Parrish, Kara Chester, Brook (Kurt) Rich and Trent (Carresa) Bishop; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan McCort, Brandi (Sam) Bailey, Paige Parrish, Andrew Parrish, Skylar Rich, Dakoda Rich, Brisa Bishop and Kolton Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, January 31, 2009, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM with Evangelist Craig Matheney officiating. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Main Street Church of Christ, 631 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
