Obituary for Earl R. Way
Earl R. Way, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born December 22, 1923, in Jackson Twp., Noble County, Ohio, son of the late Albert and Gertrude Smith Way. He was a United States Army veteran, having served with anti-aircraft during World War II in the South Pacific, for which he served three years. He was employed by the Ohio Power Muskingum River Plant for 33 years. Mr. Way was a member of the Mary Reed Memorial United Methodist Church in Dexter City, the Aurelius Lodge #308, F&AM in Macksburg, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge, 32nd degree Mason, the Laurel Grange, and he was a life member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Blaine Way. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Farson Way, whom he married October 8, 1949; two daughters, Diana (Tom) Stauch of Gahanna, and Carmen (Mark) Adkins of Covington, Kentucky; one son, Oran (Brenda) Way of Caldwell; one sister, Doris Robbins of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Doris Way of Alpharetta, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends. Friends may call Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Masonic service will be observed at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 1PM with Pastors Ken Ogg and Jeff Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Crooked Tree Cemetery, with a veteran's graveside service conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
