Obituary for E. Dean Foraker
E. Dean Foraker, age 77, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home. He was born January 17, 1936, near Olive Green, Noble County, son of the late Joseph Benson and Edna Belle Sprague Foraker. He was a 1953 graduate of Forest Grove High School, where he was a high point scorer on the senior basketball team. Early on, he drove dump trucks, and he formerly owned and operated the Elm Tavern in Dexter City and the D&E Drive In in Macksburg. He also pumped and serviced oil wells, and owned and trained trotter and pacer horses for harness racing. He was a member of Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. Mr. Foraker was a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, and he enjoyed racing horses, and taking rides and day trips. He also loved supporting his granddaughter Olivia’s school activities. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jean Waller Foraker, whom he married May 15, 1954, and who died December 18, 2009; one sister, Ruth Eleanor Zimmerman; two brothers, Bernard Ray and Carl Joseph Foraker; two sisters-in-law, June Schwenk and Maxine (Robert) Brock; and one brother-in-law, Robert Waller. Surviving are his children, Timothy Joseph Foraker of Zanesville, Thomas Dean Foraker of Texas, Sharon L. “Sherri” Archer of Caldwell, and Sue Ellen Foraker of Duncan Falls; one sister, Reva Elaine (Paul) Lori of Lancaster; one brother, Dana B. (Geneva) Foraker of Caldwell; his step-mother-in-law, Gertrude Waller of Caldwell; his sisters-in-law, Ann Marie Foraker of Bremen, and Linda (Carl) Parsons and Judy (Carlos) Porter, both of Keithtown; one brother-in-law, Bill (Dottie) Waller of Dungannon; one granddaughter, Olivia J. Archer of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, June 28, 2013, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Masonic service will be observed at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Keith Cemetery.
