Dwight F. Dimmerling, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born August 20, 1934, near Fulda, Ohio, son of the late Edgar and Lucy B. Thompson Dimmerling. He was a graduate of Dexter City High School and a United States Army veteran, having served in Germany. Mr. Dimmerling was a retired surveyor and supervisor for Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Junior F. Dimmerling, who died in 1999, and an infant brother, Norman Dimmerling. Surviving are four sisters, Rosemary Tennent of Zanesville, Dolares (Jim) Steed of Sarahsville, Phyllis (Max) Phillis of McConnellsville, and Annalee (Jerry) Reed of McConnellsville; one sister-in-law, Mildred Dimmerling of Caldwell; one step-son, Brian; two step-daughters, Lynn and Susan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Thursday, January 29, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture Service will be observed at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 20th at 11AM with the Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Military Honors will be provided by Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
