Obituary for Dorothy L. Wells
Dorothy Lucille Wells, age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born September 11, 1921, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Elijah and F. Elizabeth Buckey Danford. She was a graduate of Belle Valley High School, a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church, and she was a devoted mother and homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Clayton Wells, whom she married March 11, 1944, and who died August 1, 1985; one daughter, Betty Lou Wells; one sister, Bonnie Glidden; one brother, William Danford; a son-in-law, Jack Dowler; a niece, Melinda Brody; and a great-nephew, Michael Watson. Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Dowler of Athens; two sons, Garry Wells of Caldwell and Larry (Debby) Wells of Caldwell; one sister, Ruth Ann (David) Brody of Canton; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, May 29, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30 at 11AM with Pastors Travis Christman and Sandra Payette officiating.
