Obituary for Dorothy Elaine Weekley Hurst
Dorothy Elaine Weekley Hurst, age 79, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1932, in Hopedale, Harrison County, Ohio, daughter of the late Gilbert W. and Opal L. White Weekley. She was a 1950 graduate of Caldwell High School, and she was employed as a secretary for the First Church of Christ in Caldwell for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and its Lambda Phi Sunday School Class, and she was also a member of the Young at Heart Club and the Guernsey Chapter #211, Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Louise Velosky; an infant brother, Gilbert Weekley; and one grandson, Brandon J. Sholtis.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Hurst, whom she married October 27, 1951; four daughters, Debbie C. (Rick) Bailey of Caldwell, Becky J. (Mike) Lemaster of Caldwell, Tammy E. (Robert) Miley of Sarahsville, and Teresa A. (Dave) Densmore of Caldwell; two sisters, Shirley M. Rayner and Janice M. (Kenny) Nichelson, both of Caldwell; one sister-in-law, Norma (Joe) Dudley of Cumberland; two brothers-in-law, Herb (Lois Ann) Hurst of Caldwell and James Velosky of Dayton, Kentucky; one aunt, Doris Way of Atlanta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, July 21st at 11AM with Pastor Dale Hunt and Pastor Loran Dace officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, 601 North Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
