Dorotha Mae Addis, age 95, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, October 30, 2009, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born April 25, 1914, in Findlay, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Vara Wyer Cramer. She was a graduate of Findlay High School and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Addis was a member of the Dexter City United Methodist Church where she was a member of its United Methodist Women, and she served as church pianist for several years. She had formerly volunteered at the Joyce Davis Senior Citizens Center in Caldwell. She enjoyed her cats, and crocheting afghans and baby blankets. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Lenley D. Addis, whom she married September 16, 1934, and who died April 14, 1980; one son, Roy D. Addis; one son-in-law, Donald W. McElfresh; one brother, Emery Cramer; and one sister, Martha Murray. Surviving are two sons, J. Dale (Joy Ryan-Addis) Addis of Fairfield and Mark D. (Irene) Addis of Pleasant City; one daughter, F. Ruth McElfresh of Caldwell; one daughter-in-law, Helen Addis of Johnstown; one brother, Gene Cramer of St. Charles, Missouri; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, November 1, 2009, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral will be observed Monday, November 2nd at 11AM with Rev. Ken Ogg officiating. Burial will follow at South Olive Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Dexter City United Methodist Church.
