Obituary for Doris Smith
Doris Smith, age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born May 17, 1931, near Caldwell, daughter of the late Loen Bell and Sadie Jane Willey Kappel. She was a 1949 graduate of Forest Grove High School, and she along with her husband owned and operated a family farm in Rich Valley for many years. Doris was a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, and she loved flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Norris Smith; one sister, Irma Irene Smith; and two brothers, Wayne A. Kappel and George L. Kappel.
Surviving are two sisters, Marjorie V. (Earl D.) Addlespurger of Macksburg and Virginia R. Wilson of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends may call Friday, May 12, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, May 13th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett and Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating.
