Obituary for Doris L. Way
Doris L. Way, age 88, of Alpharetta, Georgia, formerly of Dexter City, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Gardens of Roswell of Alpharetta. She was born January 1, 1926, in Caldwell, Ohio, daughter of James Blaine and Mamie Ellen Spence White. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School. Mrs. Way was employed by Archer’s Flowers and she was clerk for the deputy registrar of motor vehicles. She was formerly a member of the Dexter City Council, for which she served as clerk for many years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Young at Heart Club, both of Caldwell. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, reading, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Blaine S. Way, whom she married November 1, 1947, and who died November 28, 1996; two sisters, Opal Weekley and Beatrice Jennings; and one brother, Vernon White.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen N. (Chad) Colopy of Alpharetta, Georgia; one son, Kevin L. Way of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Ashley L. Way of Buffalo, New York, Tyler R. Colopy of Statesboro, Georgia, and Danica E. Colopy of Alpharetta, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call Sunday, January 5, 2014, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, January 6th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating.
