Obituary for Donna F. McFarland
Donna F. McFarland, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born January 4, 1944, in Marietta, daughter of the late Bessie Mae Miller Rowlands. She was a 1961 graduate of Belle Valley High School, where she was a varsity basketball cheerleader, and a 1963 graduate of Marietta Area Technical School where she was enrolled in the program of practical nursing. She was employed by Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Smith and by Joan Smith at the Antique Center, both in Caldwell. She was also employed as a dishwasher at the Sandwich Shoppe in Caldwell for several years. She attended the Whigville Community Church and she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Donna enjoyed crocheting and crafting, and she loved her pug Brutus.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Larry Weppler.
Surviving are her children, Renee Sue (Brian) Swope of Zanesville, Lisa Lynn (Donald) Shaw of Caldwell, and Kirk Patrick (Robi) McFarland of Whigville; her good friend and former husband, Noel McFarland of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Cory Swope, Brittany Swope, Halie Cowgill (fiance Tyler Wiley), and Dalton Cowgill; one niece, Tammy Curry; one nephew, Scott McFarland; a sister-in-law, Cindy Weppler of Akron; and a brother-in-law, Neil (Anne) McFarland of Wheeling.
Friends may call Monday, October 22, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8PM and Tuesday, October 23rd from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation Tuesday at 1PM.
