Obituary for Donald R. Carson
Donald R. Carson, age 71, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his home. He was born May 12, 1948, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, son of the late Earl and Martha Carson. He was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a graduate of West Virginia Tech, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in business. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and he retired from Bi-Con Systems in Derwent, where he worked as an engineer and served as vice-president. Don attended Byesville Assembly of God. He was an avid Shenandoah Zeps fan, and he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed building and fixing things as well as cutting firewood, and he assisted with remodeling his children’s homes. Don loved vacationing at the Outer Banks and he loved watching sports. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna Virginia Borror Carson, whom he married December 10, 1975; his children, Renee E. (Norman) Cotton of Lakeland, Florida, Denice (Jack) LaRue of Old Washington, and Julian Yniguez of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Wesley Yniguez, Brittany Yniguez, Laurisha Cotton, Adam Yniguez, Drew Cotton, and Sydney LaRue; four great-grandchildren, Izabella Yniguez, Kinley Yniguez, Benjamin Yniguez, and Austin Yniguez, and a baby to be born soon; and one brother, Dale (Sandy) Carson of Mineral Wells, West Virginia.
Friends may call Sunday, February 9, 2020, from 11AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service and a veteran’s service will follow visitation at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hoskinsville Cemetery.
