Obituary for Donald G. Schockling
Donald G. Schockling, age 71, of Caldwell, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born June 30, 1934, in Noble County, son of the late George and Hannah Hupp Schockling. He was a 1952 graduate of Caldwell High School, and a U. S. Army veteran, having served in Germany. He retired from Ohio Power at Beverly, where he was a supervisor and operator, and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Vernon F. 'Pug' Schockling in 1997; and one grandson, Derrick Appold, in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Schockling, whom he married June 20, 1959; his children, Albert P. (Ruby ) Schockling of Sharon, Barbara M. Clark of Caldwell, Joseph D. Schockling of Carrollton, Allen E. (Tamara) Schockling of Caldwell, Lamont E. Schockling of Caldwell, Bonnie J. (Donnie) Appold of Belle Valley, and Jeffrey J. Schockling of Caldwell; one sister, Geraldine Crum of Lewisville; two brothers, James (Mary) Schockling of Lewisville and Tom (Lillian) Schockling of Caldwell; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, December 27, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Dale Tornes as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell. Christian Scripture Service will be Tuesday evening at 8:30PM.
