Obituary for Dewey L. Reeves
Dewey L. Reeves, age 79, of Marietta, Ohio, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at his home. He was born July 15, 1940, in Confluence, Pennsylvania, son of the late Arthur and Edna Mitchell Reeves. He was a United States Army veteran, and he was a truck driver for Reeves Trucking, which he owned and operated. Dewey was a member of the Marietta American Legion Post. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and watching John Wayne movies.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Lee Gray Reeves, who died February 10, 2014; one son, Lee Reeves, who died May 5, 2008; one sister, Audrey Foster; and one brother, Gerald Reeves.
Surviving are his son, Christian K. “Kit” Reeves (Brandi DeHaven) of Sarahsville; one sister, Wilma Ward of Marietta; four grandchildren, Ceirra Reeves, Kelsey DeHaven, Emily Masters, and Carsen DeHaven; one great-grandson, Gavin Reeves; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close family friends and caregivers, Pam and Larry Hopkins of Marietta.
Friends may call Friday, July 10, 2020, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, and Saturday, July 11th from 2-4PM. The funeral service will follow visitation Saturday at 4PM with Pastor Rodney Reeves officiating. A veteran’s memorial service will be observed at the funeral home conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. For public safety, guests are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing at all gatherings, and the family requests that guests refrain from wearing hats in the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Ogle’s Ridge Cemetery at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at www.mda.org. The family would like to give special thanks to Mike Miller for his assistance and care for Dewey.
