Obituary for Delores F. Schafer
Delores F. Schafer, age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her home. She was born May 15, 1929, in Noble County, daughter of the late Clyde and Marie Nau Schell. She was a 1947 graduate of Caldwell High School, and along with her husband, owned and operated C & S Plumbing and Caldwell Redi-Mix. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women’s Club, and she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben W. Schafer, whom she married in 1950 and who died April 10, 2014; and three sons, Tommy, Bobby, and Eddy Schafer.
Surviving are her children, Joann M. (Tony) Steed, Kay Schafer, and Connie S. (Gary) Clark, all of Caldwell; one brother, Clyde Schell, Jr. of Chandlersville; one sister, Rita (James) Birt of Celina; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Dorothy Riski of Caldwell; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will conclude visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Wednesday, May 13th at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Fulda.
