Obituary for Delbert L. Anderson
Delbert L. Anderson, age 76, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at his home. He was born April 4, 1934, in Noble County, Ohio, son of the late Oliver Clyde and Lula Mae Okey Anderson. He was formerly employed by Mosaic Tile Company and Baker Bread Company in Zanesville, the Guernsey County Highway Department, and many mining and construction companies, retiring from Central Ohio Coal Company in 1993. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local #1604 and the Cambridge Eagles. He was Methodist by faith and attended the Cumberland Pilgrim Chapel.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers, John E., Ralph H., Robert W., Harry D., Charles R., and Roger L. Anderson; and two sisters, Grace Williams and infant Mildred Anderson.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lucy Jane Shaklee Anderson; four sons, Ronald L. (Paula) Anderson and Rodney W. (Gail) Anderson, both of Cumberland, Robin G. (Vicki) Anderson of New Philadelphia, and Randy S. (Deborah) Anderson of Cambridge; two daughters, Deborah J. (Duane) Linn of South Zanesville and Dixie J. Anderson of Cumberland; one sister, Nellie (Delbert) Clark; three sisters-in-law, Beulah Anderson, Bernita Anderson, and Pearl Anderson; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, September 13th at 1PM with Pastor Steve Malone officiating.Burial will follow at Fredrickdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Guernsey, P. O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio, 43725.
