Debbie S. Watkins, age 57, of Ava, Ohio, died Friday, December 23, 2016, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born July 24, 1959, in Marietta, daughter of the late Elmer and Shirley West Williams. She attended Caldwell High School and she graduated from Washington State Community College with a degree in early childhood development. She was employed as a teacher for GMN Headstart in Caldwell, and she was also employed by Summit Acres Nursing Home as an aide. She enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles, and she loved her husband and children, and had a special love for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Tammy Williams; and one niece, Amy Badertscher.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas F. Watkins, whom she married in 1989; one daughter, Spreanna M. Pomroy of Lowell; one step-son, Shawn Watkins of Byesville; one sister-in-law, Ann (Fred) Badertscher of New Concord; her siblings, Allen Williams of Texas, Jerry (Tina) Williams of Macksburg, Justin (Vickie) Williams of Marietta, Waylon (Summer) Williams of Clarington, and Scott (Jennifer) Williams of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Carrie, Courtney, Natalie, and Noah; and her nieces and nephews, Josh, J.R., Michele, Vincent, Dustin, Brian, Danzig, Alexis, Damon, Katlynn, Allen, Chris, Jenny Jo, Matthew, Eleasah, Jesse, Lori, and Julie.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 10AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville.
