Obituary for David Smith
David Smith, age 80, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Thursday. June 13, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 27, 1932, in Grantsville, West Virginia, son of the late Hill and Clair Gainer Smith. He was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1951-1953, and he was employed as a truck driver. Mr. Smith attended the Macksburg United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed going to flea markets and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Smith. Surviving are his wife, Louella (Peg) Travis Smith, whom he married May 15, 1954; one daughter, Janet Evans; one son, Mark (Karen) Smith; three sisters, Helen Stack, Joan (Don) Cunningham, and Phyllis Mincks; one brother, Gerald Smith; his grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Wriston, David Evans, Jeff (Lyric) Smith, and Kristy (Brian) Weaver; his great-grandchildren, Randy (Crystal) Evans and Kaleene Jett; one step-grandson, Cody Wriston; his great-great-grandchildren, Chandler Evans, and Zoey and Logan Evans; one nephew he visited daily, Jerry Stack; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, June 16, 2013, from 4-8PM at Mcvay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral will be observed Monday, June 17th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Lund Cemetery in Macksburg.
