Obituary for David M. Lucas
David M. Lucas, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 2, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Stanley and Dorothy Lucas. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was formerly employed as a plant layout engineer and draftsman for Chrysler’s Detroit plant. He was also a self-employed artist for many years. He was a member of the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene, and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, literature, and art. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Ronnie. Surviving are his children, Thomas David Lucas of North Carolina, Mark David (Tara) Lucas and Eva Lucas, both of Detroit, Michael Ray Lucas of Caldwell, Debra Ann Lucas of Dexter City, Dorothy Mae (Toby) McCulley of Byesville, Stanley David (Katie) Lucas of Pleasant City, and Scott J. (Leisha) Lucas of Cambridge; his former wife, Anna Rozella “Rose” Lucas of Caldwell; 19 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday, June 17, 2013, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 8PM, with Pastor John Powell officiating. Inurnment will be at a later time at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
